Some
last minute tips before you order photo prints from
our galleries :
The photos
are offered in specific sizes: 5” x 7”,
8” x
10”, etc.. THIS IS THE SIZE OF THE PHOTGRAPHIC PAPER
ON WHICH THEY WILL BE PRINTED, not necessarily the size of the
actual image.
Due to the
nature of entertainment photography (changing light, moving targets,
etc.), it’s not always possible to frame
the shot for a standard print size. So, when I process
the photos, I crop them (trim them) so they look the best. This
doesn't necessarily maintain the exact aspect ratio for a
5” x 7” or 8” x 10” but it insures you
get the best picture. What this means is that if you print
one of my photos on, say, a 5” x 7” print paper sheet,
the print will be centered and look great but the white borders
might not be equal all around. If you have them matted and/or
framed, it will compensate for this as the matting will be brought
to the edge of the actual photo. You can also trim them yourselves
at home.
So, when
you are ordering your photos, please set the crop setting
to NO-CROP unless you are a pretty
sophisticated computer user and want to play with the cropping
yourself, or you may end up chopping someone’s head off
in the print. Just
buy them un-cropped and they will come to you as you see them
on the screen.
Also, I’ve
manually color-corrected every shot (that’s why I get the
big bucks, right?!) so set the color setting to TRUE which
will maintain the correct color values. Below is the dialog
box you will see when you go to buy a print. Use these
settings:
